Rocky Mountain Women’s Run

With 5km, 10km and Mountain Half Marathon events, the Rocky Mountain Soap Women's Walk & Run attracts over 2,000 health-oriented women looking for a unique and active weekend experience with the women in their lives. All proceeds are given to the Pink and Green Ribbon Campaign, a program of the Mary A. Tidlund Charitable Foundation.

Canada Day Parade
One thing you can count on is Canada Day in Canmore. Our festivities celebrate the special joy of being Canadian. Locals line up early for the pancake breakfast that starts at 8 AM. Main Street is jammed with people who come from all over southern Alberta to view the parade. Truly spending our national day in beautiful Canmore is a pleasure that should not be missed.

Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon, 10k & 5k

Take part in one of the races or cheer on over two thousand racers. This is one of the most scenic courses in Canada. The course includes trails along the Bow River through Three Sisters Mountain Village and over the historic mine bridge offering stunning views of Canmore’s majestic mountain backdrop. All money raised goes towards our education projects in Central America and West Africa.

Vic Lewis Band Festival

Named to honour a Canmore pioneer who introduced band music to Bow Valley students in the 1940’s... and who taught them for over twenty years... the Vic Lewis International Band Festival has earned a reputation as one of the best non-competitive music festivals in Alberta. Over 800 students in junior high and high school bands perform for adjudicators, participate in workshops, listen to faculty recitals and give public performances during the two days and two nights of the festival.
2014 Alberta Winter Games

In 2014, Alberta’s best young athletes will gather in the picturesque Rocky Mountains for the 20th Alberta Winter Games. The communities of Banff and Canmore will jointly host Alberta’s largest multi-sport competition.
Athletes ranging in age from 11 to 17 will compete in traditional winter sports, as well as various indoor sports such as volleyball, rhythmic gymnastics and wrestling. The number of participants is similar to an Olympic Winter Games, with more than 3,000 athletes, coaches and officials taking part.
